Mayim Bialik will not lose finger, will be fine after car accident

mayim-bialik-getty-accident.jpg"Big Bang Theory" Emmy nominee Mayim Bialik was in a two-car accident Wednesday (Aug. 15) when a vehicle full of tourists from Chile turned into her car, causing it to crash. In the accident, her left hand was severely cut and there was talk she was in danger of losing her left thumb.

However, a source at the hospital tells the New York Daily News that while her left hand will not be fully functional while it heals, she is going to be fine. She also assured fans via Twitter, "(husband typing) In pain but will keep all my fingers."

Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Monte Houze tells People that the Chilean tourists were neither cited nor detained following the crash. Warner Bros. tells Zap2it Bialik will return to work on the "Big Bang" set Thursday (Aug. 16) for rehearsal.

Bialik also tweets, "@Maccabeats made me cry. Rabbi at hospital gave me an art scroll.you guys helped me learn to have faith. I need it now and have it! Thx!"
