Meet Jessica Chastain: Brad Pitt's 'Tree of Life' co-star

brad-pitt-jessica-chastain.jpgRocketing from relative obscurity to movie stardom overnight, Jessica Chastain made a big splash at the Cannes Film Festival, where she's promoting her film "Tree Of Life," in which she plays Brad Pitt's wife. Despite some mixed reviews, the film won the award Palme D'Or this year.

Chastain doesn't have all her eggs in the "Tree of Life" basket, though. Over the next year, a slew of her films will hit screens, cementing her new A-list status. In addition to "Tree of Life," you can catch her in "The Debt" with Helen Mirren, "The Help" with Emma Stone, "Coriolanus" with Ralph Fiennes, "Take Shelter" with Michael Shannon, and "The Fields" with Sam Worthington.

She's made 11 films, 9 of which have yet to be released. "I'm a little worried that people will get sick of me," she told Cannes reporters. "But because the characters are so different in each film, hopefully they won't."

Chastain has some serious skill under her belt -- thanks to a scholarship from Robin Williams, she attended the Julliard drama school, and she won Best Actress at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2008 for "Jolene."
