Megan Fox compares Marilyn Monroe to Lindsay Lohan: 'I'm not interested in following in those footsteps'
There are few people who are lukewarm on Megan Fox. Either you love her or your hate her, but you certainly have an opinion on the woman who was once the hottest female in Hollywood. Sure, Fox has faded into some sort of obscurity since she was fired from "Transformers," but it could be that she wanted to fade from the public eye.
At least, that's the impression she gives in a February Esquire cover story that is sure to get people talking. In it, Fox talks about how she finds sanctuary in the church, began speaking in tongues as a child and thinks Marilyn Monroe is a lot like Lindsay Lohan -- and not in a good way.
"I started reading about [Monroe] and realized that her life was incredibly difficult. It's like when you visualize something for your future. I didn't want to visualize something so negative," Fox explains of why she got her Marilyn Monroe tattoo removed. "She wasn't powerful at the time. She was sort of like Lindsay [Lohan]. She was an actress who wasn't reliable, who almost wasn't insurable.... She had all the potential in the world, and it was squandered. I'm not interested in following in those footsteps."
So who does she want to follow? "Ava Gardner. She had power. She was a broad. She got what she wanted and said what she needed," Fox says.
The fact that Fox named her firstborn child with Brian Austin Green after a Biblical figure, Noah, should have implied her relationship with the church, but Fox takes that a step farther by explaining the "magical, crazy things" she's seen happen in church.
"I can't stand pills. I don't like drinking. I don't like feeling out of control. have to feel like I'm in control of my body. And I know what you're thinking, Then why would I want to go to church and speak in tongues?" Fox says. "You have to understand, there I feel safe. I was raised to believe that you're safe in God's hands. But I don't feel safe with myself."
