dancing-with-the-stars-melissa-gilbert-maksim-chmerkovskiy-abc.jpg "Little House on the Prairie" star Melissa Gilbert was voted off "Dancing With the Stars" on her birthday, but as with everything else, she's got a positive attitude about it. Zap2it spoke to Gilbert backstage at the show where she laughed it off. "You know what, every day above ground is a good day. So I am okay. I said this to you guys yesterday, I did things that I thought I could never do in my life, so we are definitely going out on a high note and last night was unbelievable."

She's had a wonderful relationship with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and refuses to let the world believe he's like his seems in the packages. He has nothing but lovely things to say about her as well. "I still don't know what 'Little House on the Prairie' is," he laughs. "I've heard a lot about it, over and over and I'm like okay I get it  - It's the 1800s and somebody lives somewhere. But I don't really care about the Half Pint, I care about Melissa Gilbert and that's the person I got to know and the person I got to love. It's a tough show but there's always something positive when you come out of it, and I try to get a lot of positive out of it. Clearly I have never won and I'm not going to lie to you, today it didn't feel like a fan vote, it felt like some other vote, but it is what it is and I have been here before."

Gilbert, who is off to Paris after the finale, says she went from a size six to a size two during the competition and feels "unstoppable." The entire cast as sad to see her go, including Katherine Jenkins who was crying. We're looking forward to seeing her back for the final show.

"Dancing With the Stars" airs Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC.
