"Mike & Molly" star Melissa McCarthy is adding yet another job to her resume. In addition to her TV series, she keeps plenty busy with movies. Now she's aiming to be a fashion mogul.

The actress is launching a plus-size clothing line. In the July 2014 issue of Redbook, which features McCarthy on the cover, she dishes on why she's decided to dip her toes into the fashion world.

"When I go shopping, most of the time I'm disappointed," she says. "Two Oscars ago, I couldn't find anybody to do a dress for me. I asked five or six designers -- very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people -- and they all said no." Now she'll be able to cater to those who have experienced something similar.

Not that McCarthy was always at the height of fashionable. As with most, there is a phase in her past she looks back on and can't help but laugh at. In college, she had a goth stint.

"I wore white kabuki makeup, had blue-black hair," she says. "At one point I shaved an inch and a half around my hairline and continued the white makeup up so it made my head look slightly deformed. I thought it was hilarious."

She couldn't quite nail down the attitude, though. McCarthy adds, "I was never sullen. I was a terrible punk -- I was still so chatty." We're happy nothing has changed.
