Melissa Rauch in 'Maxim': 'The Big Bang Theory' as a dominatrix

"The Big Bang Theory" fans that are used to Melissa Rauch playing sweet and nerdy Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz might get a bit of a shock in December's issue of Maxim. The actress appears in the magazine wearing skimpy (but tight) black leather and assuming many a dominatrix pose.

It has a rather striking effect.

In the interview that accompanies Rauch's photos, she talks a bit about ways that she is like Bernadette. "I am similar to Bernadette in that we both spent some time waiting tables," Rauch says (as reported by Us Weekly). "I worked at a sports bar in New York City during college."

Rauch also talks about her marriage to writer Winston Beigel. "I absolutely love a funny guy," she says. "I am a sucker for it. It's my number-one requirement."

Obviously, Rauch is working at the right place if that's the case.

Although best-known for playing the wife of Howard Wolowitz on "The Big Bang Theory," Rauch has also recurred on "True Blood" and "Kath & Kim."

"The Big Bang Theory" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
