Meredith Kercher's family says it's 'back to square one'
But another family has been affected by the verdict being overturned. Meredith Kercher's family now feels like they are starting from scratch in the search for justice for the slain British student.
Meredith's brother Lyle Kercher (pictured above, with mom Arline, left, and sister Stephanie, right) tells the AP the family feels it is starting over following the appeals court overturning the Knox conviction. The family is struggling to understand how a verdict that "was so certain two years ago has been so dramatically overturned."
They are left wondering who is responsible for Meredith's death after the release of Knox and her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. There was a third man convicted of the murder, but his trial reached the conclusion that he did not act alone.
Lyle says the entire family is "left back at square one."
