J.K. Rowling is turning to a familiar face for one of the starring roles in the miniseries adaptation of her book, "The Casual Vacancy." The co-production of the BBC and HBO has announced its primary cast.
Michael Gambon, who played Albus Dumbledore in six "Harry Potter" movies, will portray Parish Council leader Howard Mollison. Joining him will be Rory Kinnear, who viewers will recognize as Frankenstein's monster on Showtime's "Penny Dreadful," in the role of Barry Fairbrother.
Other actors announced for the cast include Keeley Hawes ("Ashes to Ashes"), Monica Dolan ("Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa"), Julia McKenzie ("Notes on a Scandal"), Keeley Forsyth ( "Coronation Street"), Marie Critchley ( "In The Flesh") and more.
The miniseries will begin production in July, though no release date had been announced yet.
