Michael Jordan banned from golf course for wearing cargo pants
Today's daily golf course etiquette lesson comes to you courtesy of Michael Jordan. All the retired basketball player wanted to do was have a nice relaxing day at the La Gorce Country Club in Miami recently, but he ended up getting banned for arriving in cargo pants and refusing to change.
This news comes courtesy of The New York Post, who got the scoop from an anonymous source but confirmed the hilarious story with Jordan's rep. Apparently Jordan was confronted about his golf course fashion while in the middle of a game, and he didn't even know he'd allegedly been banned from the venue until the Post contacted him.
"Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants," his rep says in a statement. "He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code. This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and at that point ... he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change. We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it's their loss - as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest."
Their loss indeed.
