Michael Vick will not be shedding repentant tears for Oprah Winfrey
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was scheduled to appear on the Feb. 24 episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," where he would presumably discuss his association with animal abuses, but as CNBC sports business reporter Darren Rovell broke on Twitter, that will not be the case.
Rovell follows up with a statement from Vick: "After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled for February 22. I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future."
And just in case you thought this might be a scheduling conflict, Oprah's camp says not so. In a statement from Harpo Productions, first reported by USA Today, spokesman Don Halcombe says, "Mr. Vick's representative called last night to cancel his appearance for personal reasons."
So there you go. You'll have to wait a little longer for Oprah to get Vick's side of things. Will you tune in if he finally commits -- or is it too little, too late?
