Michele Bachmann's VP candidates: Donald Trump, Rick Santorum

michele-bachmann-donald-trump-rick-santorum.jpgGOP Presidential nominee Michele Bachmann has been lagging behind in the polls, but that isn't stopping her from talking about running mates for vice president, should she be the Republican nominee for president.

"I have just the highest respect for Rick Santorum. He's a very sharp guy, and I could easily see making him attorney general," Bachmann tells the Des Moines Register. "He's very sharp on legal issues, very astute, and I would consider him for that or another cabinet position or I'd even have him on my list for vice president. I have very high regard for Rick Santorum. "And I'm not just saying that. I mean that."

She also tells CNN there are plenty of other candidates for the possible VP spot.

"We've got a lot of wonderful candidates who would fit that bill. Easily comes to mind I think would be Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina. Marco Rubio of Florida certainly would be in that category. There's a lot of great people out there. And Donald Trump is someone that I think a lot of people would be intrigued with, too," says Bachmann.

We aren't sure we'd hold our breath for a Bachmann-Trump 2012 ticket.
