Miley Cyrus' 'forget Jesus' tweet causes backlash
"Beautiful," Cyrus wrote, accompanying a photo of theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss with a quote of his on the origins of matter, which read: "You are all stardust. You couldn't be here if stars hadn't exploded, because the elements (carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, all the things that matter for evolution) weren't created at the beginning of time. They were created in stars. So forget Jesus. Stars died so you can live."
From all of that, followers latched onto two words: forget Jesus.
Some of the responses included, "So are you no longer a Christian? Forget Jesus??? Seriously? What has happened to you out there in the famous world? What????" and "You seriously believe that crap? It's so ridiculously stupid. Go to hell."
This comes on the heels of Cyrus' own call to Twitter to regulate bullying and other forms of cyber abuse, recently tweeting, "U have nothing better 2 do than hate? That saddens me. Im surrounded by love Im sorry 4 whatever happened 2 make u so bitter."
She continued, "I wont tolerate someone telling me 2 die. I think Twitter needs to take some responsibility and make it a safe environment!"
Do you think Cyrus' tweets were anti-Christian? Do you think the backlash was deserved? Or do you think everyone's taking her words a little too seriously?
