A law enforcement spokesman tells the New York Daily News that the 22-year-old turned himself in to Polk County Jail in Oregon on Thursday (Aug. 28) before posting $2500 in bail.

Helt, who violated his probation after being arrested for breaking into a drug dealer's apartment, the Daily News reports, will appear before a judge in two weeks.

Cyrus met Helt through the homeless youth center My Friend's Place, and had him accept her VMA to call attention to the cause, and Helt's mother says that Cyrus has offered to help with the aspiring model's legal fees.
