Miley Cyrus' upcoming "Unplugged" special on MTV might have at least one huge guest performer: Madonna. According to a new report, the two will collaborate on an unnamed song.

E! Online first reported the news after sources saw the two singers rehearsing in Hollywood on Tuesday (Jan. 28). Whatever the performance, MTV promises "a more intimate side of Cyrus" during the special. Other guest performers are expected as well.

Comparisons between Miley and Madonna have been common over the past year, as Cyrus worked to shed her child-star image. The young singer even noted her performance-style similarities to Madonna in an interview shortly after Cyrus' infamous MTV Video Music Awards performance (that's the one with Robin Thicke and the teddy bears).

"I was talking about some Madonna performances, and I said, 'At some point, everything becomes irrelevant,'" Cyrus explains in a New York Times interview. "No one even thinks about when she did 'Like a Virgin' at the VMAs. That just becomes a standard, where it's just like, 'Oh, that's her thing.' So I feel like now that I did the VMAs, that just kind of became a standard for me, and then anytime I do anything else, they're like, 'Miley kept it tame tonight.'"

"Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged" airs Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 9 p.m. on MTV.
