Miley Cyrus has a few choice words for the paparazzi after photographer Chris Guerra was killed while chasing a Justin Bieber story.
Guerra was struck by an oncoming vehicle on a Los Angeles roadway while trying to snap photos of Bieber during a traffic stop. TMZ reports Guerra believed he had spotted Justin smoking marijuana, and was on the hunt for a news-breaking photo.
Bieber's Ferrari was pulled over on Sepulveda Blvd. by a California Highway Patrol officer, but the "Boyfriend" singer was not actually in the vehicle. Instead, rapper Lil Twist was behind the wheel.
After news broke of the paparazzo's death, Cyrus took to Twitter to voice her concerns. Miley tweets, "Hope this paparazzi/JB accident brings on some changes in '13 Paparazzi are dangerous! Wasn't Princess Di enough of a wake up call?!"
Cyrus went on to defend Bieber against accusations his behavior may encourage the paparazzi chase. "It is unfair for anyone to put this on to Justin's conscious as well!," Miley tweets. "This was bound to happen! Your mom teaches u when your a child not to play in the street! The chaos that comes with the paparazzi acting like fools makes it impossible for anyone to make safe choices."
One of Guerra's colleagues, who fed information to TMZ about the photog's activities the day of his death had this to say of Miley's commentary: "Good Christians that I know ... don't throw stones at people who get killed."
