Miley Cyrus talks Liam Hemsworth break-up: 'It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years'
Miley Cyrus is one of Barbara Walters' "Most Fascinating People" for 2013, and ABC has released an early clip of her segment where Walters asks Cyrus about her broken engagement with actor Liam Hemsworth.
"I was so scared of ever being alone and I think conquering that fear this year was bigger than any other transition I had this entire year," Cyrus says. "I don't ever want to have to need someone again where you feel like without them you can't be yourself."
Walters points out that that's maybe called being in love and wanting to get married, but Cyrus says that she was just too young.
"I think I want that in the time that it needs to be. I don't think I realized what 19 truly is. I got engaged at 19," says Cyrus. "I definitely wouldn't change being engaged. It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years, but now I just feel like I can actually be happy. I wait for those moments of silence when I'm just at my house by myself."
The "Most Fascinating People" special airs at 9:30 p.m. ET Wednesday (Dec. 18) on ABC.
