Minnesota cheerleader facing charges for prostituting younger teammate
A Minnesota cheerleader is facing felony charges after prostituting a younger teammate for her own financial gain. High school senior Montia Marie Parker reportedly took a 16-year-old girl on her team with a developmental cognitive delay to have sex for money when she learned the girl was looking to make some cash.
Parker faces felony charges of sex trafficking and promoting prostitution, and is slated to appear in court on June 12, according to the Associated Press. Charges against Parker say that she created a listing for the younger student on a Backpage.com account and then, when someone reached out to them in March, drove to an apartment building after school where the younger girl performed oral sex on a man and then made $60. Parker proceeded to deposit the money in her own bank account.
The next day, Parker pretended to be the girl's mother and called the school to say she would be absent. They went to another location where Parker ordered the girl to have sex with a new client. The girl refused and said she would only perform oral sex, but the man wasn't interested, so they then left.
The girl's mother noticed a change in her daughter's behavior and then checked her daughter's cellphone, where she noticed messages about the prostitution sent between Parker and her daughter. Parker admitted to police that she created the ad and received "a lot of calls" about it. She has been removed from her high school campus permanently and is currently free on a $50,000 bond.
