Miranda Lambert leads CMA Awards nominees
Lambert herself got to announce her good fortune on "Good Morning America" Wednesday (Sept. 1), along with fellow nominee Dierks Bentley. (ABC will air the awards in November.) In addition to her nomination for Entertainer of the Year, Lambert is also nominated for best female vocalist and album of the year ("Revolution"), and she has two nominations in single, song and music video of the year categories. In all three, "White Liar" and "The House That Built Me" are competing.
The other nominees for Entertainer of the Year are Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band. Lady Antebellum is the second-leading nominee with five, while Blake Shelton and the Zac Brown Band have four nominations apiece.
Fellow country queens Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift are both nominated for female vocalist of the year along with Lambert (as are Martina McBride and Reba McEntire), but otherwise the CMAs didn't show them a great deal of love. It's Swift's only nomination, and Underwood has only one other nod, album of the year for "Play On."
The CMA has the complete list of nominees. You can see Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Swift, Underwood, Bentley and a host of others ABC's concert special "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock" Wednesday night.
