Miss Teen USA Cassidy Wolf speaks out about 'sextortion' case

Earlier this month, it was revealed that newly crowned Miss Teen USA Cassidy Wolf was the victim of a "sextortion" plot. The FBI investigation surrounding the situation is still ongoing, but Wolf has come forward to send a message to other women who find themselves in a similar situation.

"The message is to tell somebody," she tells "Today". "The longer it goes on, the worse it will get, so if you can get the word out, talk to the authorities, it will already help you. So just get the word out and talk to somebody."

Wolf found herself caught off guard when someone emailed her from an anonymous address claiming he had nude photos of her that he had taken after hacking her webcam. He then tried to extort Wolf by saying she needed to "perform" for him if she wanted him to not release the images online.

"I was terrified," Wolf says. "I started screaming, bawling my eyes out. I was on the phone with my mom, and I felt helpless because I wasn't sure what to do, so it was a very terrifying moment."

It was Wolf's mother who called the police, and an investigation is being performed into someone who is believed to have hacked into other women's webcams as well. This isn't an issue that makes headlines very often, so Wolf says she is happy to be the face of "sextortion" scandals.
