Cleveland Indians relief pitcher Chris Perez is being investigated after a package of drugs was delivered to his house. After a package was delivered to his home Tuesday, authorities searched the home Perez rents with his wife, Cleveland.com reports.

According to Rocky River Police Chief Kelly Stillman, a "controlled substance" was found during the search, but he would not elaborate on what was confiscated. Perez and his wife were not arrested as a result of the search.

Perez is currently on the disabled list due to a strained shoulder, and isn't on the road with the team. However team manager Terry Francona said in a pre-game briefing that he had talked to the pitcher. "I called him just to make sure he was OK. Other than that we have to allow the process to unfold. Out of respect to everybody involved, that's all I can say," he says.

A statement from the Indians says they have also spoken with Perez and are working to gather more information on the situation.
