MLK Quotes: Celebs tweet on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

martin-luther-king-jr-getty.jpgMonday (Jan. 17) marks the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr, and in honor of the national holiday, stars are taking to Twitter to pay their respects with some of the doctor's most famous quotes.

"Friday Night Lights'" Jurnee Smollett tweeted her favorite quote, "Dr. King said, 'Life's most persistent & urgent question is: What are you doin 4 others?' How will you serve on #MLKDay?"

Kate Walsh posted, "'I know that love is ultimately the only answer to mankind's problems. And I am going to talk about it everywhere I go.' MLK jr. 1967"

Sean "Diddy" Combs tweeted several quotes from the civil rights leader.

Among the many quotes, he says "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. Martin Luther King Jr. #MLKDAY."

Ryan Seacrest also speaks out in remembrance, quoting "'Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.' - Martin Luther King, Jr."

Colton Haynes, the upcoming "Teen Wolf," tweets "'Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity.' MLK"

Even though "Dancing with the Stars'" Kyle Massey didn't share his favorite quote, he still marked the occasion.

"HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY!!! let's all just be honest! Without MLK we would all still be fighting he gave his life for our freedom!" he writes.
