'Mob Wives': Karen Gravano's shady past surprises exactly no one

mob-wives-karen-gravano.jpgWhen you're starring on a reality show called "Mob Wives," is there really any point in trying to keep your reputation clean? Karen Gravano, one of the wives from the new VH1 series, seemed to want to distance herself from the organized crime allegedly surrounding her family.

Hint: If you no longer want to be associated with the mob, don't sign on to star on a show called "Mob Wives."

Hollywood Life has uncovered that Karen wasn't just an innocent bystander. In 2000, then-29-year-old Karen was arrested for being part of her mob father Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano's Ecstasy ring. Sammy is best known for being an informant that helped bring down the legendary John Gotti. He's currently in prison, but she and her mother were sentenced to probation.

Over 48 people were busted in the drug ring in Arizona -- where the family was living as part of the Witness Protection Program. Karen has now returned to good old Staten Island to face her past, and the reality TV cameras, of course.
