Burrell and his younger brother Duncan have scored a script commitment from ABC for a comedy loosely based on their experiences growing up in Oregon. They'll write the pilot script together and serve as co-executive producers, Deadline reports.

The show will follow two families who try to unplug from stressful lives in the city by buying the only store in a tiny Oregon town. The Burrell brothers know of what they write: Their family ran a country store in Applegate, Ore., an unincorporated community outside of Medford, for several years.

The pilot will be produced by 20th Century Fox TV, which also produces "Modern Family."

Ty and Duncan Burrell previously collaborated on a two-man play called "Babble" that was staged in New York in the late '90s.
