Mother of the bride Carole Middleton arrives at Westminster wearing powder blue

carole-middleton1.jpgKate Middleton's mother, Carole, arrived at Westminster Abbey Friday (April 29) morning, wearing a sky blue wool crepe coatdress. Middleton was accompanied by her son, James.

According to Clarence House, Prince Charles' official office:

Mrs. Carole Middleton is wearing a sky blue wool crepe coatdress with matching satin piping and passementerie at the waist and cuff over a sky blue silk shantung 'Sydney' day dress with short pleated sleeves and pleated pockets.  The dress and coatdress are by Catherine Walker.  Mrs. Middleton's hat is by Berkshire-based Jane Corbett.

Smashing.

According to BBC America, designer Catherine Walker (who died in 2010) was a favored designer of William's mother, Princess Diana. A fitting tribute.
