motive-season-2-finale.jpgThe case in the "Motive" Season 2 finale hit close to home for the department, with Samantha Turner as the first victim and the witness in an old domestic disturbance case as the second victim.

It all leads back to Det. Doug Slater (guest star Kenny Johnson, "Sons of Anarchy"), who is framing Sgt. Cross for the two murders to save his own butt from being prosecuted by Turner for stealing from the League of Nations crime organization during his undercover work.

In the end, Flynn and Vega put it together and they take Slater down -- literally, as Vega shoots Slater dead to protect Angie. But it won't bring back Samantha Turner, who Mark was going to propose to but never had the chance. He decides it's time to come clean, while Flynn makes an ominous declaration to Vega that she's not sure she can move forward.

What does that mean? Well, you'll have to wait for Season 3. "Motive" has been renewed by CTV for a third season.
