MSNBC Malaysia Airlines crash report pranked by Howard Stern fan

MSNBC was the target of an inappropriate prank by an unnamed Howard Stern fan during a report on the Malaysia Airlines crash on Thursday (July 17).

The prank came during a call taken during "The Cycle" when host Krystal Ball took a call from a man purporting to be Staff Sgt. Michael Boyd, supposedly a military expert at the scene. When asked about what he had seen at the crash site, "Boyd" replied:

"Well I was looking out the window and I saw a projectile flying through the sky. And it would appear that the plane was shot down by a blast of wind from Howard Stern's a**."

Surprisingly, it was the caller who ended the prank and not Ball.

Later, MSNBC gave a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, saying: "This was an unfortunate incident and we immediately clarified for our viewers."
