If you're an "Anchorman" fan, you definitely got your fill of Ron Burgundy ( Will Ferrell) during the 2013 MTV European Music Awards, but that might not have been a good thing. Ferrell played the Burgundy role throughout the show in live appearances and pre-recorded bits, but they all seemed to miss the mark.
The sketches, dubbed "Hello World with Ron Burgundy" weren't all that funny, but did include a special appearance by Daft Punk. Ferrell plays Burgundy as the uninformed moron he is, with jokes about wooden clogs, European cities he likes more and the movie "Human Centipede," and that's before he eats a hash brownie.
While eating said brownie should make Ron more entertaining, not a lot follows the moment, as he's simple seen wearing one of the Daft Punk helmets. Burgundy also gets to spend a little time in the red light district, though he ends up on display in a window somehow.
As for the live moments, his joking around with Eminem fell completely flat, while whispering dirty things in Katy Perry's ear didn't do much. If Burgundy had one funny moment of the night, it was screaming like a little girl when announcing Miley Cyrus as the winner of the Best Video award. He was long gone by the time she started smoking a joint, though.
"Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" is in theaters December 20 and hopefully it's funnier than this was.
