If you're presenting an award, it's never a bad thing to remind the audience of the other reason you might be there: your imminent return to the screen.
The "Fast and the Furious" cast achieved that at Sunday's (April 14) 2013 MTV Movie Awards, with Vin Diesel none too subtly reminding the crowd -- whom he asked, "You all saw 'The Fast and the Furious,' right?" -- that he and Paul Walker had won the award for best on-screen team for the original 2001 adventure.
Of course, that was in service of reinforcing the fact that "The Fast & the Furious 6" is on its way. With co-stars Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez (whose character evidently returns from the dead) joining the guys on the Movie Awards stage, the reunited cast offered solid proof of the franchise's latest edition that opens Friday, May 6.
Brewster, who also ends her second "Dallas" season Monday (April 15) on TNT, added that "we love you guys" for keeping the "Fast" series going. And it will continue beyond "6," since Universal Pictures reportedly is closing in on a director for the seventh edition; series mainstay Justin Lin has said he needs a break.
After an introduction coda from Rodriguez, it was down to the business at hand for the gang, as they prompted Movie Awards host Rebel Wilson to make a fast return to the stage herself to accept the breakthrough award.
