mtv-scream-tv-series-cast-gi.jpgMTV has found the cast of its "Scream" TV series, which will introduce the reboot of the horror franchise. Playing the lead role in the show will be "Royal Pains" alum Willa Fitzgerald (left) as Emma Duvall, "a classic beauty whose looks and popularity hide a natural shyness and intellectual nature."

Amy Forsyth will play Emma's childhood best friend Audrey, the daughter of a Lutheran pastor who is an "artsy loner who aspires to be a filmmaker." She and Emma have a strained relationship now that Emma is popular.

John Karna (center) is Audrey's current best friend Noah Foster, a "creative computer genius with a vast knowledge of pop culture and the tech world." Carlson Young (right) is Brooke Maddox, "the charismatic leader of the popular crew whose personality vacillates between bubbly sweetness and ferocious sex appeal."

Lastly there's Amadeus Serafini as Kieran Wilcox, the "mysterious new kid in town with a dark side and a tough exterior that hint at experience beyond his years." All character descriptions per The Hollywood Reporter.

"Ravenswood's" Jill Blotevogel will act as showrunner of the MTV drama. "Faking It's" Jamie Travis is directing the "Scream" pilot, which was written by "Revenge's" Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin.

The original "Scream" film came out in 1996 and followed Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott as she becomes the target of the Ghostface killer. The subsequent three movies had various other murders also take on the Ghostface identity to come after Sidney. The most recent movie, "Scream 4," was released in 2011.
