MTV Video Music Awards nominations 2012: Rihanna leads, Chris Brown and Drake will fight ... for an award

rihanna-we-found-love-vmas.jpg Rihanna and Drake are the top nominees for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards -- and if he wins a bunch of awards for his video "Take Care," she can at least know she contributed since she's featured on the song.

Both Drake and Rihanna are up for video of the year, with his "Take Care" and her "We Found Love" going up against Katy Perry ("Wide Awake"), Gotye ("Somebody That I Used to Know") and M.I.A. ("Bad Girls"). Rihanna is also up for best female video, best pop video, best choreography and best visual effects (the latter two for "Where Have You Been").

Drake, meanwhile, is also up for best male video -- where he'll face off against his nightclub-brawl adversary Chris Brown -- best hip-hop video (for "HYFR"), best art direction and best cinematography.
