Arguably, the best part of awards shows these days are the wellspring of GIFs and memes that the internet gives forth in response to the best and worst moments of, for instance, the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Case in point this time around is Drake.
The "Hold On, We're Going Home" singer was caught averting his eyes -- like we all wish we could have -- during Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop"-"Blurred Lines" twerk-fest with Robin Thicke, and the image was rapidly shared around the Twitterverse.
The corresponding meme says what most of us were thinking: "Miley, you don't have to do this."
Of course Drake's own performance of "Started From the Bottom" drew mixed reviews on Twitter and in the audience. While his sleepy rendition had us nodding off in front of the TV screen, Jaden Smith seemed to be having quite the moving experience as he listened to the object of Amanda Bynes' affection-slash-hatred.
Meanwhile, One Direction's Harry Styles was moved to take a break while Drake sang, and casually chow down on an orange.
What did you think of Drake's VMA performance?
