MTV's 'House of Food' trailer: What happens when you mix 'Real World' with cooking competition shows?

MTV is giving cooking competition shows a new twist with the upcoming series, "House of Food."

Imagine if you combined "The Real World" with "MasterChef" -- and added in some more drama -- then you'd get this new reality show about a group of young aspiring chefs with no formal culinary training who live together and compete against one another. The one hour weekly docu-series "combines the exciting real-life competitive elements of culinary school, with the dramatic setting of a house reality show."

The students -- chosen for their passion for cooking and food culture -- will be judged by three of the country's best chefs for the chance to win an apprenticeship of a lifetime.

Watch the just-released trailer below and tune in for the premiere Monday, March 31 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
