'Napoleon Dynamite' gets animated at FOX; Syfy's 'Being Human' debuts in January

FOX is expanding its animated offerings with two new shows. It's picked up six episodes of a cartoon version of "Napoleon Dynamite," with Jon Heder and the film's cast doing the voices, and seven episodes of "Alien Gregory," about a world-famous 7-year-old who has to go to school with regular kids. Syfy has set premiere dates for several shows rolling out in the fall and winter: "Hollywood Treasures" on Oct. 27; "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files" on Oct. 28; holiday episodes of "Eureka" and "Warehouse 13" on Dec. 7; "Being Human" in January (exact date TBD); and "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen" in February (date TBD). The latest version of "The Celebrity Apprentice" begins filming next week, and several contestants' names have already leaked out. La Toya Jackson, Mark McGrath, Star Jones, Lisa Rinna and Dionne Warwick are all reportedly in the cast. [ EW/ Gossip Cop]

Robert De Niro and "The Wire" and "Clockers" writer Richard Price have sold a drama pilot script to CBS. It's called "Rookies" and will follow a group of young cops who work in high-crime areas. Both Price and De Niro will be executive producers. [ The Live Feed]

Bravo is developing four new reality series, one of which (working title "Thicker Than Water") will follow the members of a large extended family. The others revolve around single characters: Hollywood hairstylist Dean Banowetz, former "Project Runway" designer Chris March and New York chef Roble Ali. [ Bravo]

Heidi Klum is branching out from "Project Runway" to host a new series on "Lifetime." "Seriously Funny Kids" will have the supermodel and mother of four chatting with children and getting them to say the darndest things. [ Lifetime]

Chelsea Handler is getting a new, semi-scripted show at E! that takes off from her talk show. It's called "After Lately" and will follow the offstage antics of Handler and her staff. [ Variety]
