charles-esten-deacon-nashville-season-3-muse.jpgWhen "Nashville" kicks off its third season, it seems Deacon Claybourne will be finding inspiration in another famous city for a change -- Gotham City to be exact. No, one of our favorite fictional country crooners isn't trading his guitar for a cape anytime soon, but a new woman in his life does have an interesting connection to Batman.

TVLine reports actress Brette Taylor, who plays Batman's tragically-fated mother in the "Gotham" pilot, has landed a major recurring role on Season 3 of the ABC hit.

Taylor will reportedly play Pam, Luke's sultry, extroverted new backup singer. She's a talented musician in her own right who quickly becomes Deacon's muse and deeply connects with him when her own complicated and dark past comes to light, TVLine says.

The actress' previous TV credits include "Rescue Me" and "Unforgettable."

Can we start taking bets on what her complicated and dark past is -- drugs and a trouble making ex-boyfriend perhaps?

Find out how the muse shakes up Deacon's world when "Nashville" returns Wednesday, September 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT to ABC.
