"Nashville" is finally ready to give Deacon ( Charles Esten) someone to obsess over who is neither Rayna nor Juliette. Susan Misner will join the cast in a recurring role as the woman who manages to grab the guitarist's attention away from his superstar ladies.

The character's name has not yet been released, but TVLine reports that Misner will play a woman who comes into the "Nashville" world from outside of the music industry. Instead, she will be a vet who has just moved to town. Whatever the situation that develops between this new lady and Deacon, we can expect her to be around for at least a few episodes.

Considering how long Deacon has been obsessed with Rayna ( Connie Britton), a new and different love interest like this could make things interesting for the guitar player. Misner's character isn't supposed to be anything like either Rayna or Juliette ( Hayden Panettiere), thus revealing a new side to Deacon.

A TV veteran, Misner has recurred on several popular shows over the past few years. She played Alison Humphrey on "Gossip Girl," Jessica Arndt on "Person of Interest" and FBI wife Sandra Beeman on "The Americans."
