Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender team up for 'MacBeth'
"MacBeth" fans, rejoice, because two very exciting actors have been tapped to play MacBeth and Lady MacBeth in an upcoming adaptation of the classic Shakespeare place. It's being reported that Michael Fassbender and Natalie Portman will star in the Justin Kurzel-directed film.
Screen Daily revealed the news about Fassbender, while The Hollywood Reporter learned about Portman's involvement. THR reports that the Todd Louiso and Jacob Koskoff-penned script is "billed as an updated version of Shakespeare's tale of revenge and ambition, complete with the blood and thunder of the original tragedy."
This isn't the first time Portman and Fassbender were slated to work together. Fassbender was originally tapped to star opposite the "Thor: The Dark World" star in her new movie "Jane Got a Gun," but passed when director Lynne Ramsay walked away. Joel Edgerton later replaced him.
Production is slated to begin on "MacBeth" later in 2013. No release date has been announced at this time.
