Nate Berkus is engaged to Jeremiah Brent after popping the question atop Peru''s Machu Picchu sanctuary site. Berkus brought Brent along on his business trip to Peru and surprised his relatively new love with the proposal.
The couple went public with their romance in Dec. 2012, but have been seeing each other for a little more than eight months. A rep for Berkus confirms the engagement to Us Weekly. Brent tweeted a photo of the pair and their travel entourage in front of the engagement locale, calling the day "special" and "life changing."
You may recognize Brent from his brief stint as a design assistant on Bravo's "The Rachel Zoe Project." Berkus, of course, was Oprah Winfrey's go-to design expert on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and eventually landed his own syndicated daytime talk show, "The Nate Berkus Show." Produced by Oprah's Harpo Productions, the show premiered in Sept. 2010 and lasted one season.
Berkus now has a home goods line and recently authored a book, "The Things That Matter."
