Nathan Fillion wants to be on 'Game of Thrones,' 'Sherlock' and 'The Walking Dead': Who should he play?
This is not to say that Fillion actually will be on any of these shows. That is up to the producers and casting departments of each, but it certainly wouldn't hurt the projects. Just ask "Community" -- Fillion is set to guest-star in an episode later this season.
"Game of Thrones"
There are literally hundreds of characters in the "Game of Thrones" saga, but one possibility stands out. Euron, an evil pirate and the uncle of Theon Greyjoy, may show up in Season 5 of the HBO series. Fillion may not exactly match the character from the book. That's OK -- we'd still like to see him as a captain again (it's been a long time since "Firefly"), and the actor also makes a great villain.
With an unfortunate lack of Americans in the original Sherlock Holmes stories, Fillion would either have to benefit from a story change (very possible) or fake an accent. That done, there are plenty of choices.
One entertaining possibility is Colonel Sebastian Moran, a longtime foe of Holmes and a Moriarty associate. The guy is described as being scandalous and fond of cards (often cheating). This sounds like a rogue, and Fillion is an excellent rogue.
"The Walking Dead"
A couple of comic-book survivors seem to be good fits for Fillion. If he wanted to be a big bad, there's Negan -- expected in Season 5 of the TV version. Alternatively, Fillion could play "King" Ezekiel, a dreadlocks-wearing, tiger-owning leader in the post-apocalyptic world. You just know that Fillion would have lots of fun with that -- and the wig that would obviously be necessary.
