In the drama series Heigl plays key CIA analyst Charleston Tucker, whose job is to deliver the daily briefing and counsel the president (Alfre Woodard) on high-stakes incidents around the world. The show will follow the "powerful, assertive" Tucker as she attempts to have a personal life while being on the top of her game at her high powered job. NBC has released the first photo from the show, which you can see above.

"State of Affairs" marks Heigl's return to the prime-time lineup following her exit from "Grey's Anatomy" in 2010. The show joins fellow NBC pickups "Allegiance" and "Marry Me" on the 2014-15 schedule.
