NCAA Brackets: Which team is the favorite to win March Madness?

wisco-msu-bball-getty.jpgIt's the happiest time of the year (except for Northwestern basketball fans). The NCAA basketball tournament is just hours away from getting started. But who do you pick for your brackets?

According to Glantz-Culver, Kentucky is an overwhelming favorite to win the whole thing at 7-2. The seven-time champs look to have a pretty easy trip through the South Region, with the stiffest competition coming from Duke, the second seed. The rest of the No. 1 seeds are North Carolina (9-1), Michigan State (10-1) and Syracuse (12-1).

Perhaps the biggest concern for anyone filling out their brackets is figuring out the 5-12 upset. For those unfamiliar, it's seemingly an annual occurrence that a fifth seed loses to a twelfth seed. Probably the leading choice for this year is Virginia Commonwealth, a 2011 Final Four team, to beat out Wichita State. Coming in a close second is Harvard to upset Vanderbilt in the battle of the nerds. The other possibilities include New Mexico vs. an underrated Long Beach State and Temple vs. the winner of Cal and University of South Florida.

Fill out your brackets soon. The Madness starts Thursday (March 15). Here's the full list of odds.
