'NCIS' gets Season 9: CBS renews after record-breaking ratings

ncis-short-fuse-320.jpgGood news, "NCIS" fans! CBS has officially picked up the series for a ninth season, the day after a record-breaking 22.85 million viewers tuned in for its Feb. 1 episode.

In a statement, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler praises the show. "It's simply amazing that a show in its eighth season continues to perform at such an elite level," she says.

"This is a tribute to the hard work of its talented writers, producers and cast for bringing to life such compelling stories and characters with intrigue and humor.
