'New Adventures of Old Christine' passed over by ABC

The Alphabet network was considered a possible lifesaver for "The New Adventures of Old Christine," but the Warner Bros. TV series will remain canceled, reports Deadline.

ABC had shown interest in picking up "Christine" for the past three years, but didn't step in once CBS dropped the Julia Louis-Dreyfus sitcom from its 2010-2011 lineup.

Fans can instead catch "Christine" reruns on Lifetime, which gets the series in syndication.

ABC similarly decided not to resurrect CBS' deceased "Ghost Whisperer."
