New 'Amazing Spider-Man' trailer: The Lizard's coming-out party

amazing-spider-man-lizard.jpgIt's exactly two months until "The Amazing Spider-Man" hits theaters, and Sony Pictures is marking the occasion with a dynamite new trailer for the movie.

The new teaser features a lot more of the movie's villain, Dr. Curt Connors ( Rhys Ifans), in his genetically altered Lizard form, and let's just say he's formidable. He first appears about 20 seconds in, right after Peter Parker ( Andrew Garfield) says, "I've made enemies," and there are several more shots of him wreaking havoc on New York.

You'll also see more interaction between Peter and Gwen Stacy ( Emma Stone), a little more teasing about what happened to Peter's parents and a funny shot of Peter trying to perfect his web shooters (they're back to being man-made, in keeping with the comics). Between this, the new "Dark Knight Rises" trailer from earlier in the week and, oh yeah, the release of "The Avengers" on Friday (May 4), it's quite the week for superheroes.

Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think. "The Amazing Spider-Man" opens July 3.
