New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady injured: Is he out for the season?
After suffering an injury on Wednesday (August 14), could Tom Brady kiss the rest of his season goodbye?
The New England Patriots quarterback hurt his left knee during a pileup in a joint scrimmage with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and things weren't looking good for Brady. Buccaneers defensive end Adrian Clayborn rushed Patriots left tackle Nate Solder, and both crashed into the side of Brady's left leg.
All three players hit the ground, but Brady stayed down after the tackle, holding his knee and rocking back and forth. He the got up to limp off the field, and returned for a few more plays before leaving the field for good with trainers.
So what does this mean for Brady's season? According to a source with knowledge of the exam, an MRI on Brady's knee showed no structural damage, USA Today Sports reports. Brady is considered day-to-day with a mild sprain, so Patriots fans: no need to give up hope just yet.
