Now for the casting spoilers...

Schmidt is getting a major blast from the past in the form of Merritt Wever ( "Nurse Jackie"), who will play an ex-girlfriend of everyone's favorite d**chebag. She will reenter Schmidt's life as he tries to get over the loss of Cece.

Meanwhile, a familiar face will reappear in Jess' life -- her dad, played by Rob Reiner, will return for the Season 2 finale.

"New Girl" airs Tuesdays at 9pm on FOX.
