Kay Cannon, who serves as a writer and co-executive producer on "New Girl," has become a mom. Cannon gave birth to a baby girl, the first for her and husband, comedy writer Eben Russell.

"I finally pooped out a baby," Cannon writes on an Instagram post. " Evelyn Rose Russell. We call her Leni." The birth comes only a few days after Cannon posted a picture of herself seeing at the movies, where she writes, "Trying to scare the baby out while watching 'Gravity.' Didn't work!"

Cannon, who also wrote for "30 Rock" and is currently working on "Pitch Perfect 2," married Russell in 2012. She was previously wed to "Saturday Night Live" star Jason Sudeikis for six years, before they split in 2010.
