New 'Oz the Great and Powerful' trailer debuts during Super Bowl: What did you think?
For fans of "The Wizard of Oz" and "Wicked," here comes another offering to add to the pantheon. "Oz the Great and Powerful" debuted a new trailer during Super Bowl XLVII and it promises a wild romp through a magical world.
This prequel to the 1939 classic stars James Franco as the titular wizard. Before he was the Wizard of Oz, he was Oscar, a magician and con man who goes on the run in a hot air balloon and winds up in Oz.
Once there, he convinces everyone he's a powerful wizard -- except three witches, Evanora ( Rachel Weisz), Glinda ( Michelle Williams) and Theodora ( Mila Kunis). Zach Braff also stars; the director is Sam Raimi, of "Spider-Man" (2002) and "Evil Dead". "Oz the Great and Powerful" hits theaters on March 8.
