Nick Nolte is returning to TV with FOX's "Broadchurch" remake, "Gracepoint."

Nolte landed a regular role in the 10-hour event miniseries, Deadline reports.

The remake of the U.K. drama follows Detective Emmett Carver (David Tennant), the lead investigator on the case of a shocking murder of an 11-year-old boy that puts a small town under scrutiny. Nolte will play Jack Reinhold, the owner of a kayak rental business and head of the local wildlife observation program, where the murdered boy was one of his volunteers. David Bradley played a similar role on "Broadchurch."

Previously announced cast members are Tennant (who toplined "Broadchurch" as well), Anna Gunn, Jacki Weaver, Kevin Rankin, Virginia Kull and Kevin Zegers.

Nolte got his start with a lead role in the 1976 ABC miniseries "Rich Man, Poor Man." While he mainly focused on movies since then, he also starred on the HBO drama series "Luck."
