It turns out Nicolas Cage's journey into animated movies is a hit. After turning down the lead role in "Shrek" once upon a time, Cage appeared as a caveman in "The Croods," which was released in March.
The film was met with positive reviews and grossed nearly $400 million worldwide. Because of that, it should come as no surprise that DreamWorks Animation is moving forward with a sequel. Entertainment Weekly confirms that a second installment is happening, however no other information has been released.
While there is no official word about stars returning for the movie, "The Croods" also featured the voices of Emma Stone, Catherine Keener and Ryan Reynolds. No release had has been announced.
