Nicole Kidman remembers her Tom Cruise divorce: 'It was a shock to my system'
Time and distance haven't changed the way Nicole Kidman remembers her relationship with her husband of 10 years, Tom Cruise. The couple split in 2000 after being one of the Hollywood power couples of the '90s and, though she is now happily married to Keith Urban, Kidman recalls falling head-over-heels for the "Top Gun" star.
"I was reeling with Tom. I would have gone to the ends of the earth for him," Kidman, who was 23 when she married Cruise, remembers to DuJour magazine. "I was so impulsive and naïve. ... I was totally smitten -- I fell madly, passionately in love."
Cruise and Kidman went through their share of ups and downs, but the "Hemingway & Gellhorn" actress says she was taken by surprise when Cruise announced he was leaving her two months after their 10th wedding anniversary.
"I thought our life together was perfect," she says, admitted she pleaded with Cruise to stay with her. "It took me a very long time to heal. It was a shock to my system."
